President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has concluded his working vacation in Paris, France, and has departed for Nigeria.
The President’s aircraft is expected to land at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, later this evening.
According to a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President chose to fly into Lagos first to honour the memory of Chief MKO Abiola, the acclaimed winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential election.
While in Lagos, President Tinubu will attend the premiere of a film in honour of Abiola at the Wole Soyinka National Theatre, Iganmu, as part of activities marking Independence Day.
He is also expected to hold a series of strategic meetings with political leaders and associates in Lagos ahead of the 2027 general elections.
President Tinubu departed Abuja on August 30 for the working vacation. He spent one week in London before proceeding to Paris.
During his stay in Paris, the President attended a private dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron and met with business leaders, including Mr. Vincent Bolloré of the Bolloré Group, whose interests include Canal+, MultiChoice and Universal Music Group. On Monday, he also met with the Chairman of First HoldCo, Femi Otedola.
Last week, President Tinubu witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ogun State Government and DP World for the construction of a Gateway deep seaport in Ogun Waterside and the development of a Blue Marine Economic Zone. The Dubai-based logistics giant is set to invest $7 billion in the project.
The President will return to Abuja after concluding his engagements in Lagos.
