…CP Nwadiogbu says 3 bandits killed, 17 firearms recovered in May–June operations_
The Benue State Police Command has rescued eight kidnap victims and arrested 10 suspects in a series of operations carried out across the state between May and June 2026.
Commissioner of Police, Cletus Nwadiogbu, disclosed this on Thursday in Makurdi while briefing journalists on the Command’s recent achievements.
CP Nwadiogbu said the eight victims were freed from kidnappers’ hideouts in Orokam, Ogbadibo Local Government Area.
He added that three armed bandits were neutralized in separate encounters with police operatives during the period under review.
According to the Commissioner, officers recovered 17 firearms and 36 rounds of ammunition from suspects.
Other items seized include a military camouflage uniform, a motorcycle, charms, and an axe.
The Command also paraded a suspected human trafficker accused of luring two young women from Benue State to Ghana under the pretext of offering them employment.
CP Nwadiogbu said investigations are ongoing and the suspects will be charged to court.
