Twenty prospective members of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, and one civilian abducted in Imo State have regained their freedom following a joint rescue operation by security agencies.
The victims were rescued by a combined team of the Nigerian Military, the Department of State Services, DSS, the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies in a coordinated operation in Imo State.
Sources confirm that the rescued prospective corps members and the civilian are currently receiving medical attention at a DSS facility, where they are being stabilised and debriefed.
Details of the kidnapping and the rescue operation are still sketchy as at press time, but security sources say the victims are in stable condition.
