Two goals from Erling Haaland were enough to fire Norway into the FIFA World Cup quarter-finals with a 2-1 victory over Brazil in the Round of 16 in New York.
The Manchester City striker proved decisive as Norway outplayed the five-time champions both technically and tactically on the night. Haaland’s double sealed a historic win and booked Norway’s first place in the last eight.
With the result, Norway will now face the winner of the Mexico vs England clash for a spot in the semi-finals.
It was a statement performance from Ståle Solbakken’s side, who contained Brazil’s attack and punished them in front of goal.
