Tragedy struck Bauchi State on Saturday evening as the Executive Secretary of the Bauchi State Health Contributory Management Agency (BASHCMA), Ibrahim Ladan-Duguri, and four of his children lost their lives in a fatal motor accident.
The crash occurred at Yalwan Duguri in Alkaleri Local Government Area of the State.
One of his sons survived the accident but sustained serious injuries. He is currently receiving medical attention.
Governor Bala Mohammed has expressed deep sadness over the incident.
In a statement issued by his media adviser, the governor described Ladan-Duguri as a close personal friend and classmate, noting that the loss was not only to the family but to the entire state.
Ladan-Duguri was a key figure in Bauchi State’s health sector, leading the agency responsible for managing the state’s health insurance scheme.
Further details about the burial arrangements are expected to be announced by the family.
