The Vice President has departed Abuja for New York, United States, to attend the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), scheduled to take place from September 22 to September 28, 2025.
During the high-level gathering, the Vice President is set to deliver Nigeria’s national statement and participate in the UN High-Level General Debates, alongside other world leaders and dignitaries.
A key highlight of the Vice President’s visit will be the announcement of Nigeria’s new Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) under the Paris Agreement, a crucial step in the country’s efforts to address climate change.
Following the UNGA, the Vice President will travel to Frankfurt, Germany, for a meeting with officials of Deutsche Bank, a significant engagement that could potentially boost Nigeria’s economic ties with global financial institutions.
