For the first time, the World Public Summit will be held in Africa.
From 29–30 July 2026, Addis Ababa will host the World Public Summit. Africa under the theme _“A New World: Africa in Shaping a Shared Future.”_
Organized by the World Peoples Assembly with African partners, the Summit will convene public diplomacy leaders, AU and UN officials, academics, youth, business leaders, and civil society from Africa and beyond.
The main programme on 30 July at UNECA headquarters will focus on sovereignty, sustainable development, education, culture, innovation, and new global partnerships. Confirmed speakers include Prof. Saidou Madougou of the AU, Rita Bissoonauth of UNESCO, and Zuzana Schwidrowski of UNECA.
The Summit will also host the regional awards of the 5th “Leader of Public Diplomacy” competition at the ADWA Victory Memorial Museum and adopt the *African Communiqué*.
Outcomes will feed into the Second World Public Assembly in Moscow this September.
