…Search for survivors continues at Old Ojo Road site_
Emergency responders have rescued 10 people alive from the rubble of a collapsed storey building in Satellite Town, Lagos, as search and rescue operations continue.
The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service said it received a distress call at 11:37am on Wednesday, June 25, 2026, reporting the collapse of a residential building at Old Ojo Road, by Alakija Bus Stop, off the Lagos-Badagry Expressway.
Firefighters from Ijegun-Egba Fire Station arrived at the scene at 11:49am and began rescue operations immediately.
According to Lagos State Fire Service Controller General, Margaret Adeseye, the 10 victims rescued so far sustained varying degrees of injuries and have been handed over to medical personnel for treatment.
“Search and rescue operations remain ongoing as emergency responders continue efforts to locate, extricate, and evacuate any persons who may still be trapped beneath the debris,” Adeseye said in a statement.
The building was an existing residential structure occupied by multiple residents at the time of collapse. The cause of the incident has not yet been confirmed.
