The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service has put out a fire outbreak at Justrite Superstore on Akowonjo Road, Egbeda, Lagos.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, July 23, 2026, at the second floor of the commercial building housing the electronics section of the store.
According to a situation report signed by the Controller General, Margaret Adeseye, the distress call was received at 08:15 hrs, and firefighters from Abesan and Agege Fire Stations arrived at 08:28 hrs.
“Upon arrival, firefighters swiftly deployed firefighting equipment and commenced coordinated operations to contain the fire, prevent its spread to adjoining sections of the building, and safeguard lives, property and the environment,” the statement read.
The Service confirmed that the fire has been extinguished and mop-up operations are ongoing.
Preliminary findings suggest the cause of the fire may be linked to an alternative power source, specifically a solar inverter system. No casualty was recorded.
