Nollywood actor and lawyer, Kenneth Okonkwo, has been appointed Spokesperson for former Vice President, His Excellency Atiku Abubakar.
In a statement on Tuesday, Okonkwo expressed gratitude for the appointment, describing it as a reflection of Atiku’s “democratic credentials.”
“Rather than take offence at associates who express genuine reservations about any action taken, HE Atiku Abubakar always opts for dialogue and compromise that will engender solutions to problems,” Okonkwo said.
He noted that in a recent meeting with Atiku and other stakeholders of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, the interests of the South-East were discussed and “guaranteed” within the constraints of the Electoral Act, 2022, and current political realities.
Okonkwo thanked Dr. Kashim Imam, CFR, for his “intervention and counsel,” which he said highlighted a place for all Nigerians “irrespective of place of origin, ethnicity, religion, sex, age, or cultural affiliations.”
He also appreciated Mr. Ralphs Nwosu, former National Chairman of the ADC, for his role in strengthening the party ahead of the 2027 elections, and Dr. Ekene Onwuka, SSA to Atiku on Special Duties, for building a formidable campaign team.
