Troops of Sector 2, Joint Task Force North West Operation Fansan Yamma, have dismantled a criminal syndicate manufacturing and supplying locally fabricated firearms to terrorist groups in Kebbi State.
The Media Information Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, said the troops acted on credible intelligence to search a suspected arms-making facility in the state.
During the operation, they recovered five locally fabricated AK-47 rifles. Two suspected arms manufacturers and suppliers were also arrested at the scene.
The Nigerian Army did not disclose the identities of the suspects or the exact location of the raid as investigations continue.
