…Delta Gov’s aide confirms with family; urges public to disregard false reports_
Reports claiming that former Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, has died are false.
Ossai Ovie Success, Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Delta State Governor, said he verified the information directly with the former governor’s family after the rumors began circulating online Wednesday.
“I spoke directly with his daughter, Orode Uduaghan, on phone, and she confirmed that the news is false. Dr. Uduaghan is alive and well,” Ossai stated.
He condemned the spread of the unverified reports, describing them as cruel and irresponsible.
“Spreading fake news about someone’s death is cruel, irresponsible, and causes unnecessary pain to the family and millions of Deltans who hold him in high regard,” he said.
Ossai urged the public to disregard the rumor and avoid sharing unverified information. He called for respect for life and for public leaders.
Dr. Uduaghan served as Governor of Delta State from 2007 to 2015.
