This decision follows a controversial final match where Senegal walked off the pitch in protest of a late penalty awarded to Morocco. Despite initially winning 1-0 in extra time, Senegal’s actions were deemed a breach of tournament regulations, leading to a 3-0 forfeit loss.
The Senegalese Football Federation is planning to appeal the decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), calling the ruling “unjust and unacceptable”.
