Nigeria To Resume Evacuation Of Citizens From South Africa As Air Peace Departs

The Federal Government will resume the evacuation of Nigerians from South Africa today, Monday, June 29, 2026.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, an Air Peace aircraft will depart Nigeria at 3:00 p.m. and is expected to arrive in South Africa at about 9:00 p.m. local time.

The return flight is scheduled to leave South Africa at 12:00 a.m. and will arrive at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on Tuesday morning. A total of 271 Nigerians are expected to be evacuated on this flight.
