Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have intercepted a tricycle and a consignment of solar panels and generators suspected to be destined for terrorist groups during a stop-and-search operation in Borno State.
Intelligence sources told security analyst Zagazola Makama that the interception occurred at about 8:00 p.m. on June 26, 2026. Troops of the 233 Tank Battalion, deployed at a checkpoint along the Potiskum–Maiduguri highway, first stopped a truck, registration number KTG 647 ZZ, conveying a tricycle without valid ownership or transportation documents.
A follow-up search led to the interception of a Volkswagen Sharan, registration number KRD 74 XL. The vehicle was loaded with 16 solar panels and 16 solar generators, also without valid documentation.
Three suspects were arrested: Abdullahi Nasiru, 39, and Anas Danliti, 35, both from Azare LGA, Bauchi State; and Kabiru Yakubu, 55, from Hardokwala LGA, Taraba State.
The suspects and recovered items are in the custody of the 233 Tank Battalion for further investigation into ownership, destination, and intended use.
Military sources said the operation is part of sustained efforts by Operation Hadin Kai to disrupt terrorist logistics networks in the North-East. Troops have intensified stop-and-search operations on major supply routes to deny insurgent groups access to critical equipment.
