Traffic on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway was brought to a standstill early today after a multiple-vehicle crash on Kara Bridge claimed the life of a motor boy.
LASTMA said the accident involved three articulated trucks, two Canter trucks, one Sienna, and an overturned trailer carrying chemicals. The obstruction caused a chain reaction and a massive gridlock from Kara through Berger to Otedola Bridge.
Emergency teams from LASTMA, LASEMA, FRSC, and the Police responded swiftly. The trapped motor boy died at the scene and his body was evacuated.
LASTMA GM, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, urged truck drivers to ensure vehicle roadworthiness and avoid reckless driving. He also advised motorists to use alternative routes via Isheri-Olowora and Ogunnusi as clearance continues.
