A woman, identified as Erdoo Nancy, has been arrested in connection with the alleged killing of her co-wife’s daughter in Ankyoor community, Gwer East Local Government Area of Benue State.
Eyewitnesses said the incident occurred along Makurdi Road, opposite YUA Guest House in the area. According to local accounts, youths in the community apprehended the suspect shortly after the incident and handed her over to officers at the Nigeria Police Force, Aliade Division.
Preliminary reports indicate that the alleged attack occurred while the child’s mother was away. The exact circumstances and motive behind the incident remain unclear.
The Benue State Police Command is yet to issue an official statement on the matter as of the time of filing this report. The suspect is currently in police custody and investigation is ongoing.
